Construction Staking Surveys

A key surveying service offered by CNA; construction surveying (staking) is the process of providing survey control to enable the contractor to construct the project in conformance with the project plans. Construction surveying provides the horizontal location of new improvements, but also the vertical information required to ensure that surfaces drain or pipes flow and improvements shown on plans are staked or located at the proper location shown on the improvement or architectural plans.

When proposing any new construction, construction staking is performed to ensure the design drawings are properly constructed in the proposed location. It’s a vital first step along the construction process.

Construction Surveying is the translation of construction plans into physical points on the ground (stakes) that contain project data which will be used as the basis for the actual construction. We employ the use of robotic surveying instruments and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to ensure that we stay efficient and accurate in our layout process.
